True yoga is a comprehensive practice, yet most yoga classes could be more accurately described as asana classes. They are based primarily on postures or positions and seen as a health and fitness regimen rather than as a means to facilitate inner growth. While asana poses have a multitude of benefits, itís not yoga unless itís practiced within the full context of yoga.

Balance Yoga seeks to integrate the physical postures (asanas) of Hatha Yoga with mindfulness in every day life. Mindfulness can effect deep-level changes in a personís self-image, understanding of the world, and relationship to life. Therefore, mindfulness is at the heart of almost all yogic paths. In this way, it is possible to discover yogaís full potential and uncover all the inner resources necessary to live a meaningful and happy life.
